If you are thinking about getting your cosmetic dental experience taken care of in Cancun or Costa Rica, you are probably thinking about working with The Dental Concierge. Let’s take a look at some of the different planning considerations that you’ll need to take into account when you get your cosmetic dental work done.
How Long Will I Need To Be Abroad?
Your time in Cancun or Costa Rica will depend upon the type of treatment that you need. Typically, with our process, you will arrive on a Monday and leave for home on a Friday. This gives our clinic the time to:
- Take a full image of your mouth, jaws, and face so that we can design your dental implants.
- Place temporary dentures while we work on your dental implants that will be installed down the road.
- Do any work on your soft gum tissues and bone needed before the permanent installation of your implants.
You will likely wait for a minimum of six months for your second visit. During your second visit you will have your permanent implants placed. In short, you should plan on two week long visits to either Cancun or Costa Rica spaced a minimum of six months apart.
How Will I Get To My Appointments?
All of your transportation will be conveniently taken care of for you. Someone will pick you up from the airport and drop you off. You will also have transportation to and from your appointments during your time in Costa Rica or Cancun. Not only will your transportation arrangements be convenient, they will also be safe.
What Type of Travel Documents Will I Need?
You will need to have a current passport when you get your cosmetic dental work done. It is important to take note that you should plan on eight weeks to get a new passport. We also recommend that your passport is current within the next calendar year so that you can come back for your second appointment.
Making Sure You Have Great Lodgings
If you choose to work with our dentist in Costa Rica and Cancun, we have some preferential rates at nearby lodgings. These preferential lodgings are within our pickup/dropoff area and will also have a continental breakfast to help you start your day. They will also give you the opportunity to rest before and after your procedure.
Will I Have Time to Sightsee?
Generally, you might have a day or two to sightsee when you get your cosmetic dental work done. However, a lot of your time is going to be spent preparing for and recovering from your appointment. If you plan on doing some sightseeing, it is recommended that you do it when you are not recovering or preparing for one of your sessions.
